Challenge ourselves!~

"If you never chase what you want, you'll never get it. If you never ask, the answer is always no. If you never step forward, you'll always be in the same place."

So, I've been working A LOT on myself and my personal development, not just my weight loss.  Last night I watched a show on MTV called, "I used to be FAT"  The particular episode I watched was about a young 18 year old girl who's goal was to lose 100lbs before she went off to college.  Her family was very supportive, however... They were very judgmental about the situation the whole time.  From the beginning her father wanted her to lose weight so she could get a "date" in hopes of soon finding Mr. Right and getting married…  It seems as if that mind frame for this girl was supported throughout the family.  Her own brothers even poked fun about her weight to her.  They were passing all this judgment on her for being overweight, when they themselves where not the "perfect picture" of thin and healthy.  This created a very tough environment for this young woman.

She seemed to have a really good health and fitness coach who positively pushed her every step of the way.  Now, within 99 days she set out to lose those 100lbs... But when the final weigh-in came to a close, she had only actually lost 49lbs.  Although the news of barley losing half the weight she set out to lose was disappointing, she never gave up! She went to college and continued her path to fitness and better health.  When she came back for winter break, she stunned all her family and friends with another 30lbs lost… and successfully went from 273lbs to 197lbs in about 9months!  With all things considered, this girl was a product of her family's lifestyle and bad eating habits.  So for 18years she ate over possessed foods with high amounts of sugar and fat in them...and had little to none active lifestyle.  You can't expect a lifestyle of 18years to change overnight.

While this girl was going through this journey she was able to really find her inner strength and courage, she realized losing the weight was not to, "get a date or get married" it was for herself, and only her.  She never really wanted it for anyone else.   She confided in her family that they were wrong all along and that she didn't need to look thin for a "guy/date," she needed it for herself and for her; physical, mental, spiritual health.   This girl’s story was very encouraging to watch and it just goes to show that you can do ANYTHING you put your mind to.  She had to overcome many obstacles and hurdles but she did it!  If doing what she did was easy, everyone would be healthy and thin…. (And healthcare cost would go down….) Right?...  Only in a perfect world but, YOU CAN take control of your future… YOU CAN DO IT!~

I can relate to this story in a few ways:

1.)    The environment my family creates can sometimes be less than positive and encouraging.  The reason why I state family so much is because for most, that is our biggest center of influence.  And when you don’t have their 110% support, your visions and goals can seem a little less bright.
2.)    I’ve never really been the most outgoing person… I’m a little more on the reserved side.
3.)    I come from a background of people being, easly “depressed” and having to battle the ins and outs of that is not easy.   So it’s only natural that, being “depressed” is what I know.  It doesn’t help that the family I married into is a little like that as well… Regardless I love them all very much! Im blessed to have them in my life!  It’s just that the lifestyle and mind frame some of them lead… can make what I’m trying to do a little hard.

We all have our personal demons and past to battle... its just that, it shows more in some... like headlights on a car.   I wish I could help everyone... but I must help myself first.  You can't have a sturdy house, without a strong foundation.

So, with all things considered.  I have found that, nothing happens over night!  When we as humans find some new and exciting thing to venture out with, we get excited and have high hopes form the start.  When those high hopes are shattered with the grim reality of, things take time… we give up then begin to look for the, “next best thing.” Thus the cycle continues of highs and lows and no end result.   This is how my adventure with Herbalife has been so far, up and down...  However!  When I hit those lows… I stay strong!

I expect this business to work out just as I expected it when I first began in late July!  I challenge myself everyday to continue, I can only imagine the end result be nothing but good, if I continue on this path I have chosen!  It all began with losing weight and striving to lead a better lifestyle.  It’s not easy… but once the first 10lbs came off, then the next 10lbs and the next… It becomes a little clearer each time.  With every 10lbs lost, I would think to myself…”If I can do this… I can do anything!”  I can’t express how good it feels to have lost now, 40lbs!  It has more than latterly lifted a weight off my shoulders and I want to be able to helps others do the same!

How do I stay strong with my entrepreneur mindset in a world of college go’ers?  Well it’s like this.  Every; day, hour, minuet and second I were to spend in, “class/college” I have the potential (not promise) to a great career out of it.  It’s the same thing with Herbalife.  Every; day, hour, minuet and second I spend studying the business and tools they give me, I have that same potential to be successful and land a great career for myself with Herbalife!  It’s not easy… no one said it was going to be easy.  No one said I was going to get “rich” overnight.  But it can be as easy or hard as you make it.  I take the day by day, customer by customer approach.  I’m building this business one day and one customer at a time and with a consistent effort… I EXPECT nothing less but to be successful!  CHALLENGE, challenge, challenge yourself and NEVER GIVE UP!

Best Wishes to everyone!~

~Always,
Charissa~

20 Ways to Get Mentally Tough~

1. When you face a setback, think of it as a defining moment that will lead to a future
accomplishment.
2. When you encounter adversity, remember, the best don’t just face adversity; they
embrace it, knowing it’s not a dead end but a detour to something greater and better.
3. When you face negative people, know that the key to life is to stay positive in the
face of negativity, not in the absence of it. After all, everyone will have to overcome
negativity to define themselves and create their success.
4. When you face the naysayer’s, remember the people who believed in you and spoke
positive words to you.
5. When you face critics, remember to tune them out and focus only on being the best
you can be.
6. When you wake up in the morning, take a morning walk of gratitude and prayer. It will
create a fertile mind ready for success.
7. When you fear, trust. Let your faith be greater than your doubt.
8. When you fail, find the lesson in it, and then recall a time when you have succeeded.
9. When you head into battle, visualize success.
10. When you are thinking about the past or worrying about the future, instead focus your
energy on the present moment. The now is where your power is the greatest.
11. When you want to complain, instead identify a solution.
12. When your own self-doubt crowds your mind, weed it and replace it with positive
thoughts and positive self-talk.
13. When you feel distracted, focus on your breathing, observe your surroundings, clear
your mind, and get into The Zone. The Zone is not a random event. It can be created.
14. When you feel all is impossible, know that with God all things are possible.
15. When you feel alone, think of all the people who have helped you along the way and
who love and support you now.
16. When you feel lost, pray for guidance.
17. When you are tired and drained, remember to never, never, never give up. Finish
Strong in everything you do.
18. When you feel like you can’t do it, know that you can do all things through Him who
gives you strength.
19. When you feel like your situation is beyond your control, pray and surrender. Focus on
what you can control and let go of what you can’t.
20. When you’re in a high-pressure situation and the game is on the line, and everyone is
watching you, remember to smile, have fun, and enjoy it. Life is short; you only live
once. You have nothing to lose. Seize the moment.

~Challenge yourself to be Thankful ALWAYS~

Some of my Herbalife friends shared this video here on Facebook so I'd thought I'd pass it on as well!

I totally get this! While I was at my part-time job the other week I had a "Gratitude" moment. Being a part-time checker during all the busy Christmas shopping can be a downer... but I always would look for something to make me smile or think positive on... That "Gratitude" moment came to me when I was least expecting it... this stranger doesn't even know he made my day.

There was an older man perhaps he was a Grandpa...? He was holding his new Granddaughter who was maybe 2-3months old...? His face was just lit up with the happiest sincere smile I had seen all day! All while he was holding and adoring this little bundle of joy! It was beautiful! As I observed this special moment between this Grandpa and Granddaughter, It seemed as if time had stopped around this guy… he was obviously in is very own happy bubble!!! He just seemed so happy and thankful for this precious little baby girl and gift of life he was holding! So I made sure to put myself in a happy bubble as well… and so for the rest of my shift I just filled my head with thoughts of people and things that made me happy and thankful for! Let’s just say the rest of my shift was a good one… when I changed my attitude it seemed as if the world changed around me also! I was very thankful for this stranger and little baby girl!
